Coach Sandy “Seña” Mesa takes over the reigns of the boys program after the departure of Coach Craig Dunn.
Seña is a fixture on the Dana Hills campus, previously having taught in the Spanish department before taking over as Activities Director in 2019. Having assisted with the girls program over the previous two seasons, she is excited to step in and help continue the boys’ tradition of success.
An alumnus of Capo Valley, where she ran cross country, Coach Mesa lives in San Clemente with her husband Marshall.

|Coach Nic Smith took over the reins of the girls program in the spring of 2018 after three years assisting with the boys’ team. During his first year the Lady Dolphins finished 15th in the CIF Southern Section and improved to 8th during the fall 2019 campaign. Hopes are high for fall 2021 and a push toward the state meet.
Coach Smith earned his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011, and a Masters in Teaching from University of California, Irvine in 2016. He is a proud Dana alumnus (class of ’07) as is his wife (class of ’09).
